“SWORN ENEMIES”: ON THE QUESTION ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEREZHKOVSKII AND ROZANOV

Abstract

The analysis of Rozanov’s relationship with Merezhkovskii is dedicated to the main discourses of the two thinkers in the Russian press. Their “friendship at first sight” gradually turned into arguments, passionate polemics and open conflict. The author is interested in the reasons behind this relationship, their sharp divergence, the originality of their ideological positions and behavioral strategy, primarily focusing on Rozanov.
