The article is an attempt to come to terms with one of the urgent problems in Mikhail Bakhtin’s legacy, the problem interdisciplinary relations, in constant reference to contemporary issues in the humanities. The main question here seems to be the difference between Bakhtin’s approach to the interdisciplinary problem, on one hand, and the historical conditions of (im)possibility to overcome the “autonomy crisis” in the contemporary humanities, on the other hand. What is shown, is the identity as well as the modification, in Bakhtin’s early and older treatment of texts and cultures in overcoming the borders or limits between them, without destroying their junctions and intersections.
