Abstract

This article is an attempt to present and comment on the interconnection between Bakhtin’s notion of “translinguistics” and his social ontology, as well as his concept of “dialogism”. The Bakhtinian analysis of the “act” and “utterance” in being, it seems, has an inter-discipline character of the specific unity of his dialogism based on the two notions of the Greek word logos: “word” (or “speech”) and “logics” (or “sense”). Taking as a clue, first, Sergey Averintsev’s thought that Bakhtin’s true and fundamental opponent was Aristotle, and, secondly, Gadamer’s idea of the fundamental difference between Aristotle’ conception of logic as apóphansis and the dialogical logic of the 20th century existential ontology, we can see the inner connection between the roots of Bakhtin’s dialogism and the so-called “paradigm shift” in the hermeneutics and he humanities in the contemporary thought.
