Abstract

A group of poetic texts by M.I. Tsvetaeva close to the semantic antinomies “art” / “reality”, “poetry” / “life”, “word” / “silence”,“word” / “thought”, etc. forms similarities with the poem by F.I. Tyutchev Silentium! and with the novel by L.N. Tolstoy Anna Karenina. These convergences (intertexts) are extra-systemic, fragmentary, they are like semantic “pieces” (R. Rorty’s term). Tyutchev’s poem with his formula “A thought uttered is a lie” denies the Cartesian-Kantian epistemological subject, putting forward in its place the image of an individual soul (microcosm), surpassing the macrocosm itself in scale. In Tolstoy’s novel Anna Karenina the ideas of Tyutchev’s Silentium! about the inexpressibility of the individual soul as something richer than the macrocosm itself are refracted and the denunciation of the world’s lies and falsehood, which was then picked up in the work of Tsvetaeva, is deployed.
