PRINCE V.F. ODOEVSKY IN THE HISTORICAL AND LITERARY CONCEPT OF V.V. ROZANOV

Abstract

The article discusses the possibility of reconstructing the historical and literary concept of V.V. Rozanov, his ideas about the structure of the literary process and the place of the work of Prince V.F. Odoevsky in Russian literature. From Rozanov’s point of view, it was one of the most important: not only Odoevsky’s contemporaries were associated with him, but also representatives of later literary generations, including Turgenev, Dostoevsky, Strakhov, Florensky. Paradoxically, Odoevsky’s novel Russian Nights, which touched upon all those problems that remained extremely important for Russian society until the beginning of the 20 th century, was pushed to the periphery of the current cultural space, and Odoevsky himself joined the ranks of “literary exiles” and remained virtually unknown to the Russian reader.
