The problematic field of this article is determined by the understanding of “leave” as a concept that has a special poetics. The diary notes of M.M. Prishvin in the last year of his life are considered. The article pays special attention to the etymological differentiation of words that have a common root “zhi-”, which makes it possible to clarify the semantics of the relationship between the concepts of life / death. The ideological attitudes of Prishvin are determined in his manifestation as a Soviet writer and in the self-consciousness of a creative person within the limits of diary notes. The duality of the external aspects of his being as a writer and diary entries is emphasized. The typological, artistic and semantic features of these notes are determined. It is underlined that these features are corrected to a certain extent by Prishvin’s intelligent attitude to faith. As a result, it is indicated that in Prishvin’s diary notes, the motive of death does not even concern his earthly existence. In the writer’s mind, life goes on and has no end.
poetics; life; death; diary notes; self-consciousness.
