The article is devoted to the Leningrad stage of the life of Bakhtin and his closest circle, considered from the point of view of the final solution of the Bakhtin question. the distribution of publications by M.M. Bakhtin under the masks of V.N. Voloshinov, I.I. Kanaev, P.N. Medvedev is on consideration. Launched by Medvedev in 1925 the mechanism of replacing the name “Bakhtin” with the name “Medvedev” was taken under control by Bakhtin by expanding the number of his own “deputies” in the publishing market of Leningrad. As early as 1926, Voloshinov became the main representative of Bakhtin on this market, under whose name all books under the mask were most likely to be published. However, with the help of administrative resources, Medvedev achieved the publication of the book “Formal Method in Literary Criticism” under his own name.
