Shevyryov’s travel across the Russia

In 1847 the Russian writer and professor of Moscow Imperial university S.P. Shevyryov on his vacation visited Kirillo-Belosersky monastery. On his way there he attended some towns, among them Alexandrov, Rostov, Yaroslavl and Vologda, where he met mentally deranged poet K.N. Batuschkov. Shevyryov visited also Ferapontov monastery but the famous fresco by Dionisy had not been found in those years.
